President & Senior Creative Director
I’m Lisa Carter, a translator, writer, editor and industry leader, owner and operator of Intralingo. I love what I do.
For twenty years, the written word has marked the rhythm of my life: both the measured pace of English and the fiery flair of Spanish.
My work has won the Alicia Gordon Award for Word Artistry in Translation and been nominated for an International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award. I’m a Certified member of the Association of Translators and Interpreters of Ontario (ATIO) and the American Translators Association (ATA), and a proud member of various other professional writing and editing organizations.
My company, Intralingo Inc., embodies everything I believe in:
- Translation is the art of recreating, rewriting a text in another language.
- Editing elevates a text.
- Knowledge is meant to be shared.
- Experience, commitment and leadership are key to every working relationship.
Let me put all of this and more to work for you.
With over ten years of experience as an English to Spanish translator, I also draw on a professional history in journalism and communications to ensure that your message reaches its intended audience.
Whether working in international news, international relations, translation or editing, the axis of my whole career has always been words.
I graduated cum laude with a Bachelor in Communications in Monterrey, Mexico and obtained a Master of Journalism at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada. I’m a Certified member of the Association of Translators and Interpreters of Ontario (ATIO) and a member of the Canadian Authors Association.
Your every word, your overall message and the goals for it are my priority.
Stacy received her MFA in English and Creative Writing from Mills College in Oakland, California. She has taught English and ESL throughout the Bay Area and worked at several nonprofit organizations including the Center for the Art of Translation. She has recently returned to the Bay Area after teaching literary translation and English at the Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro in Mexico.
